The special theory of relativity

Assumptions

(a) physical laws are obeyed in all frames of reference
(b) the velocity of light in free space is constant in all inertial frames of reference

Consequences

Measurements made from one frame of reference will be different from those measured when travelling with the body

Length apears to get smaller, mass appears to increase and time appears to pass more slowly in a moving frame of reference when viewed from a stationary frame.
